Shalygina brings a fresh look and new work to the gallery that has an organic appeal that is elegant in its simplicity. Figurative and color driven, the elongated figures and color palette have a tribal quality to them, yet they also represent the “common person” as they could be anyone. While her work is very contemporary in application and image, it appeals to the viewer on a personal level without leaving you cold or separated.
